Collection: 3D Portraits of Naked Musicians Painted on Recycled Materials. (Music Paintings) [Recycled Art]

This Series of Portraits of Naked Musicians was created between 2018 and 2020. A number of the works were painted during the hardest part of the Covid lockdown.

All the Musicians appear naked although in some of them the nudity is merely suggested. The subjects are protected only by their instruments and by Music itself which gives them a huge degree of vulnerability.

All the works are constructed out of recycled materials such as biscuit boxes, cardboard rolls, egg cartons, polystyrene boxes and other various found objects.

The images of the portraits are distorted by the irregularities, curvatures and tridimensionality of the surface on which they are painted. Different versions of "Reality" are apparent as the viewer moves across space. Ambiguities and questions about the concept of reality hang in the air.
